I love when families fly in from all over for Christmas in Charleston. It's always special to photography families coming together! We have New York, Denver, and Charleston represented here. The Shields family grandparents have an amazing fun house in Wild Dunes! The backyard alone was a mix of fun for the kids and fun for me, gorgeous scenery everywhere. We had a great afternoon documenting nerf gun wars, fireside chats, and a quick windy trip to Isle of Palms. All things that make Christmas special in Charleston!

 

It's a joy to know I can do this for other families. I always think about what I would want included from my own childhood. Henry asked me why I was photographing the family sitting around the fire pit. I told him "because it's the little things we won't always remember." Luckily his family has a storybook to help.

I got some insider information that one of these quick headshots we took resulted in one sister getting a promotion! I'm assuming it wasn't solely based on my photo skills, but you never know. 

Is there any better way to travel at the beach other than golf cart?
